White Horse Inn

White Horse Inn case study

White Horse Inn WC

The business

Established in 1850, the White Horse Inn is the oldest restaurant in Michigan. Following a multi-million dollar renovation project, new owners Victor Dzenowagis and Linda Egeland returned the property to its former glory as a beautifully-designed destination restaurant.

White Horse Inn Waste

The problem

Victor and Linda partnered with Von Staden Architects to incorporate fixtures that married White Horse Inn’s historic charm with innovative technology. Paper towels presented an expensive and time-consuming burden on the business, while traditional hand dryers were unhygienic, messy and hazardous from water on the floor.

Dyson Airblade Tap

The solution

Researching online, Linda discovered the latest Dyson Airblade Tap hand dryers and discussed the technology with her architect. The hand dryer's sleek design easily fitted with the design concept and offered both hand washing and drying at the sink. The green and clean solution eliminated paper towel waste and reduced the time needed for staff to check the restrooms.

The results

"Dyson Airblade Tap hand dryers are the first hand drying solution that actually meets every need we have," said Victor. "They are great for customers, and our staff love how much easier maintenance has become." Since completing installation, White Horse Inn saved money by cutting the need for separate sinks, faucets and paper towel dispensers/hand dryers, along with the costs of maintaining paper towels.
