Step by step

Turn the machine off.

Use the Dyson service tool to remove the two screws at the bottom of the machine and carefully lift the machine from the backplate.

Press the release catch and remove the filter housing from the machine.

Remove the filter from the housing.

Empty the filter directly into the bin. Dispose of used filter in accordance with local regulations.

Reattach the machine to the backplate and tighten the two screws using the Dyson service tool.

Insert the replacement filter into the filter housing.

Insert the filter housing back into the machine ensuring it clicks into place.

Turn on and test the machine.

Low footfall - Less than 200 uses per day.

High footfall - Over 200 uses per day.

Is the machine used in a low footfall environment?

It takes approximately 10-12 seconds to dry your hands using this machine.

This Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer has two power modes, 900W and 650W. The machine is set to 900W as default.

Use the Dyson service tool to remove the two screws at the bottom of the machine.

Carefully lift the machine from the backplate and check the power mode on the reverse.

Check operational distance

Please check that your hands are within operating distance and moving in front of the sensors.

The distance for the air function is 0mm-80mm from the air sensor.

The optimal distance is 5mm.

After 30 seconds of continued use the hand dryer will turn off automatically.

Make sure the power supply is in line with the rating plate on the machine. For high voltage markets (200-240v), for low voltage markets (100-120v).

Check that the connector block has been wired up correctly.

Wall fixing requirements

Do not fix to unsupported plasterboard (drywall) as this will not provide a safe and secure installation for the machine and may also invalidate the guarantee.

Where only unsupported plasterboard is available for installation, a Dyson splashback must be used. Contact the Dyson Helpline for further information.

If the wall has an airgap, the fixings used must be of a sufficient length to provide a secure installation. Don't use sealant when fixing the machine to the wall.

Was the Airblade installed on an unsupported wall?

Ensure the fixings are tight in the splashback and all 14 fixing points have been used – Only the outer 6 fixing holes may have been used during installation.

Step by step

Turn the machine off.

Use the Dyson service tool to remove the two screws at the bottom of the machine and carefully lift the machine from the backplate.

Contact Dyson to arrange collection of the old main body unit for recycling.

Press the release catch and remove the filter housing from the new main body.

Attach the new Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer main body to the backplate and tighten the two screws using the Dyson service tool.

Insert the filter housing back into the new main body ensuring it clicks into place.

Turn on and test the machine.

The splashback should be used when the wall intended for use is plasterboard, a cavity wall, has an airgap or in cases of excess water on the wall surrounding the machine.
