Lights
If your machine is not performing as it should, we can help.
Your machine has lights that can tell you what the problem is from poor pickup to power issues and is the best way to solve any problems.

Symptoms
Alternatively, you can select a symptom instead such as; no power, battery run time, poor pick up etc.

Please select the appropriate option
Unplug the machine
Make sure the machine is unplugged from the charger.

Check wand and tools
- If the wand and a tool was fitted when you saw the light, make sure these are fitted.
- Pull the trigger and check the status lights located on the side of the battery.
What do the lights show when the trigger is pulled?
Why do I see a blockage light?
When the machine meets more air resistance, the motor will increase speed to compensate. For example, when moving from a hard floor to carpet, the motor will speed up slightly on the carpet to maintain suction.

Why am I hearing a strange sound?
If one of the airways becomes blocked, very little airflow will be able to get through. To prevent the motor from overspeed, the machine will stop and start to alert you to a problem. This will sound like the machine is pulsing.
If you continue to use the machine, it will cut off completely. You will be able to start the machine again but it will continue to cut in and out until the blockage is removed. A blockage indicator light will also show while the machine is running.
Remove wand and tools
- Please ensure the bin is empty before continuing with any checks.
- Remove all tools and accessories from the machine e.g. Wand, Cleaner head, Crevice tool etc. leaving the main body, bin and cyclone.
- Pull the trigger for 10 seconds.

Blockage light still showing
This means that the blockage is somewhere in the bin and cyclone or the filter.

Remove the bin
Push the bin release catch to open the bin. Please ensure the bin is empty.

Press the red bin release button and slide the bin off of the cyclone.

Check the bin
- Check the bin base and clean any dirt using a brush or dry cloth.
- The bin can be cleaned with a damp, lint-free cloth only and must be completely dry before refitting.

Check the cyclone
Using a brush, remove dust and debris from the cyclone shroud. This is the silver coloured part of the cyclone with lots of holes in it.

- Look inside the end of the cyclone where the wand and tools attach.
- The dirt goes up this channel and then into the bin through a hole in the side of the cyclone. You should be able to see light shining through from either end.
- Remove anything blocked in this channel.

Remove fine dust
Please note: This step will cause fine dust to come out of the machine. It is recommended that this is done outside and where possible, hold a bin bag around the machine to capture as much dust as possible. It is not recommended that this is carried out by anyone with allergies.
To dislodge any build up of fine dust in the cyclone, hold the machine over a bin and firmly tap the side of the cyclone all the way around. Whilst you will never get rid of all the fine dust, this will remove any excess build up.
Refit the bin
- Slide the bin back onto the cyclone until you hear a click.
- Close the bin base and push the bin back into place on the cyclone until you hear a click.

Test the machine
Now the cyclone and bin are back on the machine, press and hold the trigger for 10 seconds.

Filter advice
- The filter needs to be washed once a month as a minimum but may need to be washed more frequently, depending on how often the machine is used and how much fine dust is being picked up.
- You may not see any dust on or in the filter, even if it needs to be cleaned.
- Knocking or blowing dust out of the filter is not sufficient and is not recommended.

Wash the filter
Please follow the steps in the video.
Find the text version of the step-by-step guide instead, under "Does the blockage light still show?"
Test the machine
Once the filter is completely dry, re-fit by turning clockwise until there’s no gap between the filter and the main body. Press and hold the trigger for 10 seconds.

Does the blockage light still show?
We're glad the problem's been solved.
Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.
Remove the filter
Remove the filter by twisting anticlockwise to the open position and pull away from the machine.

Filter washing
WARNING: Do not put the filter in a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, oven, microwave, or near a naked flame.

Remove excess dust
Tap the filter firmly over a waste bin to remove any excess dust before washing.

Soak the filter
Soak the filter in water for 30 minutes. This will loosen up the dry dust embedded in the filter. If you have to wash the filter more often than advised, this suggests that a higher than average amount of fine dust is being picked up or there was some dust left behind from the previous wash. You may want to soak the filter for longer if this is the case.

Rub the inside of the filter, followed by the outside, in running water to clean out all dust.

Rub the filter submerged in clean water to check if any dirty water still comes out. If it does, repeat washing until the water stays clear.
Filter drying
- WARNING: Do not put the filter in a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, oven, microwave, or near a naked flame.
- Leave the filter to dry with the open end facing up for a minimum of 24 hours.
- It can take much longer than 24 hours to dry, ensure the filter is completely touch dry prior to refitting.

Test the machine
Once the filter is completely dry, re-fit by turning clockwise until there’s no gap between the filter and the main body. Press and hold the trigger for 10 seconds.

Now the cyclone and bin are back on the machine, test the pick up.

Check wand and tools
Remove the wand from the machine and any tools from the end of the wand.

Check the Wand
Look through the wand and remove any blockages. You should be able to see all the way through the wand.

- You may not see any dust on or in the filter, even if it needs to be cleaned.
- Knocking or blowing dust out of the filter is not sufficient and is not recommended.

Why is my machine cutting out?
If one of the airways becomes blocked, very little airflow will be able to get through. To prevent the motor from overspeed, the machine will stop and start to alert you to a problem. This will sound like the machine is pulsing.
If you continue to use the machine, it will cut off completely. You will be able to start the machine again but it will continue to cut in and out until the blockage is removed. A blockage indicator light will also show while the machine is running.
Unplug the machine
Make sure the machine is unplugged from the charger, pull the trigger and check the status lights located on the side of the battery.

What do the lights show when the trigger is pulled?
Remove the filter
The filter indicator will flash if the filter is not fitted correctly. Remove the filter by twisting anticlockwise to the open position and gently pull away.

Refit the filter
To refit, return the filter unit to the open position and twist clockwise until it clicks into place.

Test the machine
Press and hold the trigger for 10 seconds.

Why do I see a filter light?
The filter light will show if it needs to be washed.

Why am I hearing a strange sound?
You may not hear anything different if the filter light shows but if the filter becomes completely blocked, very little airflow will be able to get through. To prevent the motor from overspeed, the machine will stop and start to alert you to a problem. This will sound like the machine is pulsing.
If you continue to use the machine, it will cut off completely. You will be able to start the machine again but it will continue to cut in and out until the filter is washed. A blockage indicator light may also show while the machine is running.
