Frequently asked questions
How does the Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool™ differ from other humidifiers?
The key difference between the Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool™ and other humidifiers is in the machine’s triple functionality for whole room air treatment – it purifies, humidifies and cools you. By combining Air Multiplier™ technology with Jet Axis Control, our machines are able to circulate purified, humidified air throughout the whole room¹ so you don’t breathe dry, stale air. In addition, this machine offers a hassle-free deep clean cycle to thoroughly clean the machine at the touch of a button.
How does humidification work on the Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool™?
The Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool™ uses Dyson’s advanced evaporative technology. Water is placed onto a biostatic woven mesh evaporator and air is used to convert that water into water vapor so fine that it is invisible. This also means it can’t carry particles or bacteria with it, providing a healthier environment.
Can I switch off the humidification function?
Yes. The machine works as a purifier humidifier or just a purifying fan.
What cleaning/maintenance is required for this machine?
The Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool™ has a hassle-free deep clean cycle which cleans the machine thoroughly at the touch of a button. After approximately one month’s worth of humidification in hard water areas (you can select your water hardness on the Dyson Link app), the deep clean cycle button will illuminate alerting you that it’s time to run the cycle. The machine will also alert you when it’s time to change your filters. A filter life reading can be found on the LCD screen and via the Dyson Link app.
What is different about Dyson Pure Cryptomic™?
The Dyson Pure Cryptomic™ has all of the capabilities found in our advanced purification products (Pure Hot+Cool and Pure Cool) but goes a step further to not only capture all volatile organic compounds (VOC) but destroy some of them, namely formaldehyde. An added technology panel on the machine breaks down formaldehyde into two safer molecules – carbon dioxide and water.
What is formaldehyde and what are common sources of it?
Formaldehyde is a polluting gas formed of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen that is commonly found in homes. Common sources of formaldehyde in your home could be: paint and varnishes, air fresheners, mattresses, furniture, household cleaners, carpets, particleboard and plywood, electronics, dryer sheets, nail polish remover, moth balls, toys, fireplaces and wood burning stoves.
