Four cleaning modes explained: Customizing hydration with Dyson WashG1™
Published: August 12, 2025
Every home is different – and so is every mess. From light spills to sticky stains, hard floors face a variety of cleaning challenges. That’s why the Dyson WashG1™ wet floor cleaner is engineered with four cleaning modes, each designed to deliver the right level of hydration for the task at hand.
Whether you’re cleaning sealed wood, tile, vinyl or laminate, Dyson WashG1™ helps you customise your clean – so you can remove wet and dry dirt in one pass.
Level 1 – for light spills and quick refreshes
Level 1 delivers a gentle level of hydration, ideal for everyday cleaning. It’s perfect for light spills, hair and surface dust. The rollers apply a fine layer of clean water across the floor, leaving minimal moisture behind – so floors dry quickly and are ready to walk on sooner.
Use Level 1 for:
- Quick cleans between deeper washes
- Light messes in hallways and living rooms
- Sealed wood floors that require minimal moisture
Level 2 – for mealtime mess and wet footprints
Level 2 provides balanced hydration for regular cleaning. It’s designed to tackle messier spills and everyday grime. The Dyson WashG1™ uses 26 hydration points to evenly distribute water across the rollers, ensuring consistent coverage and a smear-free finish.
Use Level 2 for:
- Kitchen spills and dining area messes
- Muddy paw prints and snack-time stains
- Vinyl and laminate floors with moderate dirt
Level 3 – for stubborn stains and heavy messes
High mode delivers maximum hydration for deep cleaning. It’s ideal for tackling tough stains, sticky liquids and dried-on debris. The rollers saturate the floor with clean water, while motorised counter-rotation agitates and lifts the mess – all in one go.
Use high mode for:
- Spilled cereal, syrup or cooking oil
- Bathroom grime and dried toothpaste
- Heavily used areas with built-up dirt
Boost mode – for extra power when you need it
In addition to the three main modes, Dyson WashG1™ features a Boost button that purges each roller with the highest level of hydration. It’s designed for spot cleaning and stain removal – giving you extra power when you need it most.
With Dyson WashG1™, you’re in control. Choose the cleaning mode that suits your floor and your mess – and enjoy a hygienic clean that’s tailored to your home.
