Maintaining your Dyson WashG1™: Self-Clean cycle and roller care tips
Published: August 12, 2025
The Dyson WashG1™ wet floor cleaner is engineered to remove wet and dry dirt in one pass – delivering a hygienic clean across hard floors. But keeping your machine in peak condition is just as important as the clean itself. With built-in maintenance features and thoughtful design, Dyson WashG1™ makes upkeep simple, fast and hygienic.
Here’s how to keep your Dyson WashG1™ ready for every clean.
Self-clean cycle – built-in hygiene
After each use, you can activate a full-system self-clean cycle. In just 140 seconds, clean water flushes through the rollers and internal components – removing residual dirt and preparing the machine for its next clean.
You can make this flush run while the machine charges, so it’s always ready when you are. No manual rinsing. No mess. Just hassle-free maintenance.
Hygienic roller cleaning
The Dyson WashG1™ uses two motorised microfiber rollers to lift spills, debris, hair and dried-on stains. These rollers self-clean on every rotation – extracting dirt before being evenly hydrated with clean water.
Secondary brush bars remove debris and hair from the rollers, while extraction plates squeeze off moisture. Debris and waste liquid are gathered in separate trays for hygienic disposal.
Easy-to-remove trays and tanks
Maintaining your Dyson WashG1™ is designed to be simple. The dirty water tank and debris tray are quick-release and easy to empty – with no-touch disposal straight into your bin or sink.
There are no filters to trap bacteria or emit odors. And with wide tank openings and smooth internal surfaces, manual cleaning is fast and straightforward.
Roller care tips
The rollers are densely packed with microfiber – 64,800 filaments per cm² – for high absorption and a clean finish. To maintain performance:
- Use the self-clean cycle after every use
- Empty the debris tray and dirty water tank regularly
- Rinse rollers manually every few uses if needed
Replace rollers every six months
Designed for long-term performance
With up to 35 minutes of run time and a click-in battery, Dyson WashG1™ is built for everyday cleaning. Its maintenance features are engineered to support long-term hygiene – so your machine stays as clean as your floors.
