Frequently asked questions

Will it pick up pet hair?

Yes, the Dyson V9 Submarine™ wet and dry vacuum comes with the de-tangling Dyson Motorbar™ cleaner head and Dyson’s Hair screw tool, both of which are engineered to pick up long hair and pet hair with ease. For the best cleaning result, hair should be vacuumed from the floor before using the Submarine™ wet roller head.

How often do I need to replace the wet roller with ordinary use?

We recommend replacing the wet roller every six months, depending on how often you use your machine, to help maintain optimum performance.

How often does the roller need to be washed?

We suggest you wash the Submarine™ wet roller, as well as the Submarine™ wet roller head, after every clean.

How do I clean the wet roller head?

The wet roller can be detached and washed under tap water with a common household anti-bacterial detergent, diluted according to the manufacturer’s recommended ratio.

Can I add detergent in the water tank?

If you decide to use detergent, please choose gentle, common household detergents and do not use bleach. Please follow the manufacturers guidance on the recommended dilution - We do not recommend putting undiluted detergents in the clean water tank.

Does water go into the vacuum’s bin?

No – when the Submarine™ wet roller head is attached to your wand, all suction and airflow to the bin, motor and filtration system is automatically disabled.
