Everything you need to know about the Dyson Hard™ vacuum
Q: How does it work?
A: The Dyson Hard™ vacuum has a Double-edge cleaner head engineered to vacuum and wipe hard floors at the same time, removing loose debris as well as dust, dirt, and grime. The cleaner head has dual suction channels that remove debris before and after the wipe. This allows the wipe to remove grime from hard floors. The machine is powered by the Dyson digital motor V2 and has Root Cyclone™ technology for no loss of suction.
Q: How does the Dyson Hard™ vacuum compare to other hard floor cleaners?
A: The Dyson Hard™ vacuum is powered by Dyson’s fast, lightweight, energy efficient and power dense digital motor. With most other hard floor cleaners, you have to vacuum first, and then wipe or mop. The Dyson Hard™ vacuum swaps two time consuming steps for one efficient one; powerful suction to remove dust and wet wipes to tackle grime in one action. Unlike other hard floor cleaners – The Dyson Hard™ vacuum can also clean up top, down below and in-between, with combination and crevice tools included for upholstery, dusting, and tight squeezes.
Q: Can it be used on carpets?
A: The Dyson Hard™ vacuum is designed for use on hard floors, rather than carpets. You can use the machine without a wipe for hard floor spot cleaning.
Q: Can the Dyson Hard™ vacuum be used as a handheld?
A: Yes, you can detach the wand and attach the combination or crevice tool to the main body of the machine to use as a handheld. You cannot use the Double-edge cleaner head with the handheld.
Q: Can I use the Double-edge cleaner head as a vacuum without a wipe?
A: The Double-edge cleaner head can be used without the wipe pad to vacuum without the wipe. It can also be used as a handheld with either the combination or crevice tools for spot cleaning.
Q: Does Dyson sell the wipes?
A: Yes. There are currently two types of wipes available: Hard floor and Wood nourishing. They are sold in packs of 12 and are available from Dyson.com and participating retailers.
Q: Can the Dyson Hard™ vacuum be used with other (non-Dyson) wipes?
A: As with all Dyson products, we recommend using Dyson produced parts and accessories.
Q: Can the Dyson Hard™ vacuum be used with dry wipes?
A: A: Yes, dry wipes can be used with this machine. However, they will not be as effective at removing grime. The machine picks up tiny dust particles without the need for a dry wipe.
Q: Are all Dyson’s own wipes wet, or do you carry dry wipes?
A: We currently offer Hard floor and Wood nourishing wipes which are both wet wipes.
Q: Are wipes safe for children and pets?
A: The wipes are safe for children and pets when used in accordance with instructions on the wipes’ packaging.
Q: Which floor types and surfaces can I use the wipes on?
A: The Hard floor wipes are suitable for use on sealed hard floors including hard wood, vinyl, glazed tiles, laminate, polished marble, polished granite, parquet and tatami. The Wood nourishing floor wipes are suitable for sealed hard wood floors. If you are unsure, please check with the floor manufacturer and test on an inconspicuous area before use.
Q: Will wet wipes damage my hard / wooden floors?
A: No, the wipes will not damage floors when used on the correct floor types. The Hard floor wipes are suitable for most sealed hard floors. The Wood nourishing wipes are especially designed for sealed hard wood floors and contain beeswax to protect and nourish.
Q: Does the Dyson Hard™ vacuum have an ENERGY STAR qualified battery charger?
A: Yes, the machine’s battery charger has qualified for the ENERGY STAR rating for its energy efficiency. Once the battery is charged (3.5hrs if charged from empty), the charger switches to monitoring mode (drawing less than 1W).
