Dyson engineers aim to do more with less - creating machines which perform better than their predecessors using fewer raw materials. Our function-led approach to design supports this aim: each component contributes to the overall performance of the machine. New technology, such as the Dyson digital motor, which is a third of the size of a conventional brushed motor - helps us reduce the size of our machines. Dyson DC30 - one of our handheld vacuums weighs just 1.2 kg - an improvement on its predecessor, the Dyson DC16, which weighed 1.55 kg.
The DC30 is smaller but more powerful than its predecessor.
The Dyson DC26 - a cleaner designed especially for Japanese homes - is a third of the size of its predecessors. Engineers painstakingly redesigned each component and shrunk the cyclone technology to fit into a space envelope the size of an A4 sheet of paper.
The DC26 is a third smaller than the DC22.
